About the Chelsea Chronicles

In early 2011, when on the verge of a back procedure that was going to require two months in a back brace I lovingly named Beatrix, I had a style panic attack. How was I going to dress for my life when cursed with what can be best described as a hard, wide, black, Velcro obi belt in the fashion of those worn by weight lifters? I mulled over this fashion dilemma. I sought advice from my fashionable friends. I bought a lot of cardigans, blazers and flats.

Then I had an idea.

Each day I would post a new outfit of the day photo showing how I incorporated the brace into my wardrobe. I would take the negative and turn it into something positive. If anyone could make a back brace look fashionable, surely it was me. I would approach this two-month period as a style challenge, not a set back. Thus, the blog known as styling my back brace was born.

Once I was able to shed the back brace, it only made sense to evolve the blog into something more all encompassing. The Chelsea Chronicles is about me, my life, my wardrobe. Sometimes I’m funny. Sometimes I’m snarky. I try to throw a little inspiration in between. Whether you read because you like my musings on style or you just want to know if I end up dating my back doctor, I will try not to disappoint. And if you like what you read here, be sure to check out my short story, My Night with George Clooney.

Happy reading.
